What if we have temples for Science, just Science without any other ideologies or religions or any subjective dogmas?! We can have fun by singing, meeting and celebrating knowledge and intelligence… praising the good name of SCIENCE. And we can organize humanitarian and educational activities in the name of good knowledge too, so it is fun but also useful… I think it could be a good idea.
Temple for Science NOT Atheism, because atheism is nothing… it is just not theism. But Science is something, it is the best project humans have made at all. And if its name used in a scientific way to medicate the weaknesses in the human consciousness and the human psychology instead of abusing these weaknesses to make profit or to gain authority like what religions do… it would be a very good accomplishment. We can spread the word of science instead of spreading ignorance and lying, we can do well for a good reason instead of doing good to serve a superstition.
There are a lot of stupid religions and cults which are organized and very active in spreading delusions, nonsense, bad principles, stupid values and fucked up morality between the public. And these institutions have rights to express these bad ideas and false knowledge between people, actually they have much power in society and influence on the state. They make people proud with ignorance, violence and hatred; they suggest racism and discrimination against unbelievers, sinners and people with other sexual orientation.
No one can forbid them from making such communities, no matter how much damage and destruction they are making to the big societies… no matter how they bitch on science. It’s called the freedom of belief and the freedom of speech, even if they are believing in bullshit and just telling lies all the time… they are not only bitching on science but on the human culture as a whole.
So they can do what they want but the people who know better can also do what they want. Imagine a temple made for science in the best modern architecture, something beautiful and powerful in the same time… like the best religious cathedrals in the world. Imagine that this place is decorated with some icons about evolution, the big bang, the human anatomy, and the most basic and famous laws of physics… artworks to inspire people the love of science and the appreciation for knowledge and intelligence instead of celebrating fictional characters and fairytales.
Imagine that this place organizes lectures for the public about basic science in the most interesting methods to reach even the minds of those who don’t even care. Lectures, debates and conversations between brilliant scientists who like to contribute to society by their knowledge to enlighten people.
The problem with education in schools and universities that they are very much connected to the market teaching very specific knowledge in the economic fields, they are designed to produce good workers and employees… so the knowledge we have in such education is very limited by that purpose. While after graduation the less cultured people become vulnerable to the popular delusions, and no one can reach them or care about educating them the good knowledge except very few scientists who care to spend that time in the corrupt media… in front of hundreds and thousands of priests, preachers and holy men. These brainwashed people then become the loyal sheep of the corrupt preachers and politicians.
So if stupidity can be organized, intelligence also can… and if ignorance can practice humanitarian activities to spread a good reputation for ignorance, also knowledge can. If churches and mosques can organize false education and false humanitarian support for people, why not an organized scientific domestic institution too?! Why not?
